LUCKNOW: Six passengers were killed and over 40 injured when three coaches of the Lucknow Barauni Express (15204) derailed following collision with Krishak Express (15007) at Nandanagar railway crossing in Gorakhpur.
Railway Board chairman Arunendra Kumar told reporters that seven coaches have derailed.
Rescue teams of railway and Gorakhpur district administration have reached the spot and rescue operations are under way.

The collision between the two trains took place at around 10pm, derailing three coaches of the Lucknow-Barauni Express.
Driver and assistant driver of the Krishak Express have been suspended, Times Now reported.

Meanwhile, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced Rs two lakh for the family members of the deceased and Rs 50,000 compensation for the injured.
Railway has also announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 to kin of the dead.
事故发生后，戈勒克布尔-瓦拉纳西和勒克瑙——戈勒克布尔线路列车的运行被打乱。
