FUZHOU: Olympic bronze-medallist Saina Nehwal and young shuttler K Srikanth stormed into the finals of the women's and men's singles events respectively at the $700,000 Open Super Series Premier on Saturday.

Saina's improvement at the net and court covering cannot go unnoticed. She now gives away very few points and that pushes her opponents into making errors of their own. I like to think it is the result of the new coaching. Am sure she is very confident now - and rightfully so. Kudos to Srikanth. Reaching the finals itself is a great accomplishment. Unfortunately I cannot see him clearing the final hurdle - as there it is the wall itself - impregnable and insurmountable by any one. Still I am ho against hope.
