Hi Navneet,

Thanx for nice take on 30 years of change in China. But do selective pics really tell the true story? Even if you compare India of 1990 and todsy, you would find vast diffetence. In fact, mob revolution of Reliance in 2000 really changed the face of India.in the last decade and a half, we have leap frogged in progress and have almost caught up with the west in maby fields. Today , Microsoft, Apple and Face Book are making a beeline to India. And mind you, all this was achieved with a disconcerted Democracy----- Not like the Chinese growth with a Focussed schedule. The day China loosens central Party grip, it would fall apart. Poverty in China is worse--- and made worst by surplus funds which are useless because labour cost is controlled for chrap production.Therefore I am not impressed with China's orchestrated growth story. It is a facade to hide the ugly face of China. If China is so grown, why don't they allow Democracy movement to take roots? Can any of your Chinese friends talk about this?

Yes a remarkable blog, and I appreciate the efforts of both your Chinese friends who sent you this material and also would like to applaud your painstaking efforts to bring them to us.

Yes there can be no doubt that China has made a quantum leap in terms of growth and modernization.I read that one of their key strengths is that they complete projects in time bound and extra quick time, and have acquired great efficiency in this.

Yes the contrast of the old China and the modern stands out so well.

India also has made considerable progress and pics of our major cities now and than will also show the tremendous growth that has taken place- glitzy mals and complexes et al. Its all a question of this being taken forward with a faster pace, and I hope our PM and the new Govt will make it happen

No doubt India has progressed a lot but it pales in comparison with the progress that China has made. As regards the poverty, or ills of capitalism, our records aren't any better than those of China, I am sure. But accountability in China is more and therefore, there is no question of delays in projects. All their projects are completed ahead of time. My efforts are just to inspire us.

Indeed they have outpaced us in every field and we cannot say that it is because of forced labour. If we go to China, we can see it. Each person works sincerely for whatever work he undertakes. No gala party there. Work means real hard work. It's a part of their culture.

It is amazing to see the contrasting pictures.While China has developed by leaps and bounds we are moving rather crawling,by taking 2 step forwards and 1 backwards.

More than Democracy it is the general attitude of people, perhaps,while "I" and "ME" are important in India in China it is mostly "WE" i guess
