Hello Vijay,

Nobody asked me to do. In fact when I was there, I couldn't speak to most of them but I could see, what hard work and strong nationalism could do to a nation. That's what endeared me. I thought that a nation that if a nation that was far poorer than us two decades ago,could make this remarkable progress, then why can't we. I thought I would inspire my countrymen by setting before them the example- and that's what I do.

没有人叫我这样做。实际上在中国时，我几乎没法与他们中大多数人交谈，但是我目睹了勤劳工作和强烈民族主义对一个民族产生的作用。这是讨我喜欢的。

如果一个民族20年前比我们要穷得多，却取得了如此显著的进步，为什么我们办不到？

我认为给国人树立一个榜样，可以激励国人的斗志。

这就是我所做的。

These old photos brings me all the many memories of my Childhood, it almost makes my eyes wet.

I am 25 now, I was born in a poor village. I witness most of these. At my Childhood age, foodstuffs were in short supply, parents working day and night at the cropland just for a simple purpose---feed the family. usually we only have corn porridge for breakfast and lunch, only supper could have rice, I could still remenber that parents cooked eggs by mixed a lot of Chinese chives, makes it looks a little more. I shared one bed with my little brother till 13 years old. We walked over two kilometer to saw outdoors movies....

eh...(let's see what else), maybe most of the younger now didn't know the black-and-white TV set ( Change the channel by twist the button), and the pager (symbol of wealth), only few "rich" people could bought these...

这些老照片勾起了我对儿时的诸多回忆，几乎让我的眼睛湿了。

我现在25岁了，出生在一个贫穷的农村。儿时，食物供应短缺，父母为了养家糊口而日以继夜地在农田里干活。

通常早餐和午餐吃玉米粥，晚餐才有饭吃。我仍然记得父母用韭黄炒蛋，为的是让其看起来分量多些。13岁以前，我一直和弟弟睡在同一张床上。走两公里多的路去看露天放映的电影。

也许大多数年轻人不懂得黑白电视（就是通过旋转按钮来换台的）和寻呼机（有钱的象征）是何物，而当时只有少数有钱人才买得起这些。

Nice to see you here after so many days. My parents too weren't rich and they had four of us to feed but still a common Indian was much better of in food and clothing in comparison with the compatriot Chinese. China indeed was very poor and what is remarkable is that most of the people today in China have seen those days of near starvation have come up with sheer resolve while their compatriot Indians have not risen that much. It's not because of lack of opportunities, its because of lack of resolve. What do you do now and how do you rank yourself in comparison with the children who grew up in the similar environment?

我父母也不富裕，养了我们四个，不过普通印度人当时在衣食方面比普通中国人要好得多。中国当时确实非常贫穷。引人注目的是经历过那段艰苦岁月的中国人决心站了起来，而印度人显得不够。不是因为缺少机会，而是因为缺少决心。你现在做什么？你跟类似环境成长起来的孩子相比如何

For me, It is really hard to comparison with others, some maybe living good but some are not.

I am working for a company by doing international business, because I know English ( though it is not very good)

Resolve is important, but in my opinions, that the country should educates the people love work and respect each every workers who dedicated to the society's development

很难与别人进行比较，有些也许过得好，有些过得不好。

Hello Charles- Country doesn't educate a person. The values which we get are from the parents, our teachers, our society as a whole are those that stay with us throughout our lives. The curriculum of the school books introduced by the government of the country can be politically inclined. Even though I don't know what is taught in the Chinese schools but I am sure that they don't teach about the unjust actions of the Peoples Liberation Army, of the eccentricities of Mao, of the atrocities of the co unists against the people who did not approve of their ideology. It may have brought a lot of good to a few people but the dark side of truth will always remain hidden from the coming generations.
