Sincere effort by My Young to tell us how his home town iChong with 3000 years of history preserved there is changing fast in last 50 to 60 yrs.

Pictures are very interesting. In a way the changing landscape of the city old and new dwellings coming side by side is somewhat similar to many old Indian cities with thousands of years of living history in them. One such city that comes to my mind is Varanasi in UP with the stark difference iChong is city by the mountains while Varanasi in India is a city by a perennial river Ganga.

Look forward to more pictures. Mr Young will probably bring us dramatic transformation of this city in recent times. One interesting feature I notice is old settlements with thatched roof are huddled together and so are the newer buildings built with modern construction materials. Both indicate people live here in groups; many large families together perhaps.

The other thing I notice is every one wears long pants; men and women wear jackets; perhaps it is cold here in iChong most of the time.
