据卡塔尔半岛电视台12月24日报道，印度东北部阿萨姆邦(Assam)的两个村庄在当地时间23日遭到武装分子血洗，造成50余人死亡。美国有线新闻电视网(CNN)则报道称，此次袭击事件目前共造成54人死亡。
据报道，12月23日，印度分离主义武装“博多民族民*阵线”(National Democratic Front of Bodoland)于一小时内在该邦4个地方展开暴力袭击。这也是该地区本月内发生的最严重暴力袭击事件。这起事件被视为对印度安全部队在11月份袭击该组织藏身之处的报复行动。
报道称，武装分子在袭击该邦西部的科格拉恰尔镇(Kokrajhar)的村庄Saralpara与索尼提浦尔地区(Sonitpur)的村庄Santipur时，甚至对村民无差别开火。当地幸存民众对警方说，武装分子徒步手持步枪并身着军装。当地警方也证实，“他们连妇女和儿童都没放过”。
半岛电视台报道称，目前阿萨姆邦警方已对该邦多个地区实行宵禁。对此，印度总理莫迪也谴责对无辜者的屠杀是“懦弱的行为”。
