UP governor Ram Naik strongly advocated use of Hindi in education and said the practice of people in Hindi heartland speaking in English should be discouraged.
北方邦地方长官Ram Naik强烈建议使用印地语进行教学，称要劝阻印地语中心地带的人们说英语。
Speaking at the ninth convocation of Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) at Phaphamau here on Saturday, the governor and chancellor of UPRTOU said, " am a Marathi but I speak in Marathi-mixed Hindi as the language unites the country into one. I have seen people of the Hindi heartland speaking in English language in this northern belt which should be discouraged."
在一次集会上，这位地方长官说：“作为马拉地人，我说着一口混杂着马拉地口音的印地语，该语言把国家统一成一个整体。我看到北方印地语娶有人说英语，而这是该予以劝阻的。”
The governor also expressed concerned over the deteriorating standard of education in the country. "There was a time when students from other countries used to come to Takshila and Nalanda universities in India to get quality education, but now the scenario has deteriorated to such an extent that none of the universities of the country is considered to be in top 200 educational institutes of the world."

I am reading the comments here and noted people making fun of this old bloke and disrespecting their own language giving English important as a first language. France, Japan, South Korea, Germany and other non English speaking countries are well developed compared to India without having English as first priority. Off course English is important since it is a global language but why give so importance? You fools. Problem with India is lots of languages and different culture.
