KANPUR: A groom hid his caste for marriage but was shown the door by the would-be bride at the marriage function. As the wedding party readied to return empty-handed, a guest offered to get his son married to the girl. A 'panchayat' was called and the girl's family accepted the proposal and the marriage was solemnized.
坎普尔：一位新郎隐瞒了种姓，但在婚宴上被准新娘撵出了门。正当婚礼聚会要落空而回时，一位来客自荐他儿子娶这姑娘。一位村务长老被请来、姑娘家人也接受提议，于是举行了婚礼。
The incident took place in Sargaon Buzurg of Kanpur Dehat. Barati Sharma of Sargaon Buzurg had fixed the marriage of his daughter with one Pradeep. However, when the marriage party arrived on Wednesday night, the girl's father was told that the groom did not belong to their caste 'Badhai' (carpenter) and was actually a 'lohar' by caste. The information shocked the family members.
这事发生在坎普尔地区的撒岗村。撒岗村民沙马为他女儿与一个叫普拉第普的定下婚亊。然而，当婚礼聚会在星期三晚上到来时，有人告诉姑娘的父亲，这新郎不属于他们的种姓 '巴德海' （木匠），而实际是 '罗哈' （译注：在当地是铁匠的同义词）种姓。这消息把这一家子惊呆了。
When the girl came to know about the development, she outrightly refused to marry the groom.
当姑娘得知这个变化，她直截了当地拒绝嫁给这新郎。
The bride's family accused the groom and his family of kee them in dark about their caste. "When the marriage proposal was finalised, we were told that groom's side is from the same caste. But, a relative of mine told that the groom was a 'lohar'. Celebrations were on at our place and nearly all my relatives had come to participate in the function," said Barati Sharma.
新娘家人指责新郎及其家人，在种姓这亊上，把他们蒙在鼓里。“提亲最后敲定时，我们被告知新郎那边是同一种姓。但是，一个亲戚告诉我新郎是个'罗哈'。喜庆办在我们这地方，而且我所有亲戚几乎都来参加婚宴了，” 沙马说道。
Bride's family members alleged that they had fixed the marriage only after being informed that 'groom' belonged to their caste, i.e, 'Badhai' (carpenter). Devastated over the development, Barati Sharma spread the word that he was ready to marry off his daughter to any guest of the same caste. Later, a guest came forward and offered to marry his son to the girl. A 'panchayat' was called at the marriage function and later girl's family consented to the proposal. "Incidentally, the boy too was named Pradeep.The girl too agreed to take 'saat pheras' with him," said Barati Sharma.
新娘家人说，他们只是在被告知该'新郎'同属一个种姓'巴德海' (木匠)后，才定下这门亲事。沙马被这一变化搞垮了，他放出话来，愿意把女儿嫁给随便哪个同种姓的来客。后来，一位客人上前主动提出让他儿子娶这姑娘。一位村务长老被请到婚宴上，而且后来姑娘家人也同意这个提议。“巧的是，这男孩名字也叫普拉第普。这姑娘也同意与他共绕圣物七转（译注：这圣物指庙宇或神象，印度教中必不可少的做法），” 沙马说。
As the marriage was being solemnized, police arrived on the scene along with a few locals. A few of them tried to work out a compromise between the two parties. However, the girl refused to budge from her stand, forcing the police to allow her to go to place of her family's choice.
正当婚礼举行时，警察与几位老乡来到现㘯。他们中一些人试着在双方中找出个妥协办法。然而，这姑娘拒绝从她的立㘯上退让，逼着警察允许她按家人的选择去做。
The first groom and his party returned 'empty-handed'. A police official said, "The girl has married another youth, who is a namesake of her would-be groom with whom she was earlier engaged."
这第一位新郎和他的聚会亲友'空手'回家。一位警员说，“这姑娘嫁给了另一位青年，他与她先前订婚的准新郎同名。”

No, the girl wisely realises that she will have to face issues with both families later in life and also that caste differences can also translate into cultural differences. She is not in love and so, since it is an arranged marriage, she took a fantastic decision for herself. It's her choice.
