RANAGHAT/KOLKATA: The sense of security has all but vanished, but there is no anger in her voice. The 71-year-old nun at a convent school, who was gang-raped by a gang of young men, was a picture of calm and sobriety on Sunday, some 36 hours after the brutal attack.

Battling her pain at the Ranaghat hospital, she kept saying: "Dil mein dard hai (My heart is broken)." Throughout Sunday, she was more concerned about the security of the school and its students than the trauma she was in, hospital superintendent Atindranath Mondal said.
