Biggest drawback is the range is only 1500 Kms across India. So we cannot use it for our missile seekers and military navigation beyond that and need to rely on Glonass and GPS.

yup. but currently we need positioning data for troops then missiles. This was restricted to us during Kargil war by the US so we developed IRNSS.

Great go on. Can't rely on the f()cking American GPS, launch the rest three soon. Now there are three, American GPS, Russian GLONASS and third is IRNSS. Europe and are going to have by 2020 it seems!!
