Bengaluru: Union Minister for Home Rajnath Singh today said that India should become super power not only in economy but also in sports.
“The 21st century belongs to India and the country should become super power not only in economy but also in sports which is very important for recognition in the world arena,” he said, speaking after inaugurating renovated Rani Kittur Chennamma Stadium here.
印度内政部长Rajnath Singh今天说，印度不仅要成为经济超级大国，而且要成为体育超级大国。“21世纪属于印度，该国不仅应该成为经济超级大国，而且要成为体育超级大国，这对世界舞台上的承认是非常重要的。”他在为班加罗尔翻新后的体育馆举行落成仪式时如是说。
Mr Singh said there were days when Indian sportspersons were satisfied with participation in Olympics and world competition and earning fifth or sixth place.
Singh 先生说，过去的日子里，印度运动员满足于参加奥运会和世界大赛，满足于取得第5名或第6名的成绩。
“Now days have changed, our sportspersons have proved that they are not lagging behind by wng medals in Olympics and world tournaments,” he added.
Taking names of Mari Kom in boxng and recent achievement of ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, who became world number one, Mr Singh said there was need to change mindset and encourage sports.
“如今时代已经改变了，我们的运动员已经证明，他们在奥运会和世界大赛上拿奖牌方面并不落后。”
Singh先生提到了打拳击的Mari Kom，以及最近跻身世界排名第一的王牌羽球选手塞娜内瓦尔，称有必要改变思维，鼓励体育的发展。

like ur country we do not have exemplary coaches or our govt is not so keen to win Olympic medals, people of India play according to their will, no one forces them........but in story is different, people are forced to practice day and night even if u are exhausted, they don't care about u, they only care about the medals........I love my country for giving me everything.........i'am an engineering student and probably will be going to the navy soon.......we are a de ocracy, i can do anything.....
