Uber resumes credit card payments

BENGALURU: You can now pay for your Uber rides using international and Indian credit cards. The tax-hailing app that had come under the RBI scanner for flouting the two-step credit card verification process has worked through the regulatory rigmarole to restart its credit card payments in the country all over again.
班加罗尔：你现在能用国际和印度信用卡支付你的优步出行费用了。这个因为无视信用卡两步验证程序被置于印度储备银行扫描仪下（反洗钱审查）的用车应用已经通过监管程序，再次在整个国家范围内重启了它的信用卡支付功能。
"Adhering to RBI regulations, there shall be a two-factor authentication flow built into the app and we'll need you to enter your online banking or one-time password before we can charge the fare to your card," the company said in a statement. Riders have the option to add as many cards as they like as a payment option.
公司在声明中说：“根据印度储备银行的规定，应用中应该内置有一个两步验证过程。在我们能从你的信用卡中扣费前，我们需要你输入你的在线银行密码或者一次性密码。”乘客可以选择添加任意数量的信用卡作为支付选项。
Uber said the new feature was available to all Android users immediately and will be available on iOS (Apple devices) in the coming weeks. Uber will also continue to accept Paytm wallet as a mode of payment.

The RBI had come down heavily on Uber for storing customers' credit card details and deducting fares without a second-factor authentication. Following that, the much-storied San Francisco-based startup tied up with Paytm to launch a mobile wallet within the app, allowing riders to pay for their trips without using cash. Filling cash in the mobile wallet involves use of a second-factor authentication, thus meeting the RBI's requirement. But it still is slightly less convenient than a credit card because users need to constantly refill the wallet.
印度储备银行严厉谴责了优步储存用户信用卡信息和不经过第二步验证直接扣费的行为。之后，这个总部位于旧金山的新闻缠身的创业公司与Paytm合作在应用内启用了电子钱包功能。这项功能允许乘客不使用现金支付车费。向电子钱包的充值会通过两步验证，因此符合印度储备银行的要求。但是因为用户需要持续地为电子钱包充值，所以相比信用卡仍然有一点不方便。
Uber has expanded exponentially, to 18 cities in India in just over a year of its launch. Rival Ola is also growing at a scorching pace, riding on the back of a $400 million funding led by Russian investment firm DST Global.

Right Uber Taxs are affordable and easy to get compared to yellow tax and some other cabs. But they should keep the option of cash payment at least for the elderly persons.

To get more riders Uber must accept cash. Many people who want to ride Uber are not capable of paying though PayTm or Credit card.
