(Melbourne) 2 hrs ago Railways should stick with Broad Gauge, we started Delhi Metro with Broad Gauge and then these MNC's lobbied hard and next line became standard gauge. We did our best to convert into Uni-gauge system but now again due to pressure from these foreign companies we are going back to multi-gauge system. They will just kill common men mode of transport for sure. Its great to have high speed rail but on our terms not what other dictates.

This must have been the case in 1853 when first railway line was built for 35 Kms between Mumbai and Thane, steep project cost must be the issue then also. But had it not been done then we would never have got the railways in India.
