WASHINGTON: India and the US on Tuesday kicked off the first strategic and commercial dialogue with a focus on boosting trade ties and enhancing regional security ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with President Barack Obama.
US secretary of state John Kerry and external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj highlighted the priority areas in bilateral ties as they inaugurated the India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue.

I still doubt US as a good ally. For me, Russia is still far better. Where as US keeps good relationship with Pakistan even though they knew that Pakistan is behind most of the attacks in India. And they are still funding them. And Pakistan keeps on develo nuclear arsenal!!!

If US walks away from Pakistan, will own Pakistan completely. Better for US to maintain dialogue with them to have some influence, which will be better for India in the long run. Russia is a struggling country. A beggar can not make other beggar rich. No country in the world has grown with Russian assistance. So increasing business with America is in right direction.
