恰尔肯德邦发生列车事故，14人遇难
RANCHI: Fourteen persons were killed when Howrah-Bhopal Express rammed into a SUV at an 'unauthorized railway trespass' on Howrah-Dhanbad route near Bhurkunda railway station (Dhanbad division) under Ramgarh district late on Monday night.
The SUV was crammed beyond capacity with passengers. All its occupants died in the accident. A few bodies were trapped inside the damaged car and others were thrown out into the open after the powerful collision.
"Body of a child was recovered from the bushes on early Tuesday morning. The recovery has taken the toll up to 14," Ramgarh SP M Tamilvanan told TOI. ADG and police spokesperson S N Pradhan had confirmed only eight deaths till late Monday night as some bodies were trapped inside the vehicle till 11pm.
Tamilvanan said seven children, four women and three men were killed as the car was dragged by the Bhopal bound train for a few meters after the collision.
The vehicle's occupants were members of one family and were returning home from a 'mundan' ceremony in Ramgarh. They belonged to Patratu under Ramgarh district.

Sad incident, but report is Incomplete it doesn't mention where accident took place was unmanned crossing or not just a basic detail. Very unfortunate innocent people dying RIP!

It's tragic accident which took lives of innocent people. Still there are many unmanned railway level crossings. Steps should be taken immediately either to close the level crossings or man the crossing so as to control the further accidents in the crossings. Even after so many accidents happening at unmanned level crossings no concrete measure is being taken by the railway ministry. The railways should be held responsible for these type of accidents.

Very sorry for the lost lives. As if some fixed target is made to meet the accident levels, it has been happening of late very frequently. Needs a through investigation and the mind-set to make Indian Railways a safer mode for travelling.
