NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday saluted the 10 brave soldiers who lost their lives after an avalanche hit their post in Siachen Glacier.
Demise of soldiers in Siachen is very tragic. I salute the brave soldiers who gave their lives to the nation, PM Modi said in a tweet.

Can you ever predict that there will be earthquake or tsunami tomorrow? Avalanche is the same, its nature and nobody can do anything about such incidents. If they would have then we wouldn't have lost so many lives in tsunami and earthquakes
