印度工人一抵达就能拿到免费的SIM卡了
CHENNAI: Expatriate workers from the country going to Saudi Arabia are being given free pre-paid SIM cards on their arrival, B S Mubarak, India's consul general in Jeddah, told TOI last week.
印度驻吉达的总领事Mubarak上周对《印度时报》记者说，印度前往沙特的境外务工人员，一抵达就能拿到免费的SIM卡。
He said the Saudi labour ministry had initiated the process in a bid to ensure the welfare and rights of workers. The Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC) had set up counters at the airports to hand over the SIM cards, he added .
他说，沙特劳工部启动了一项旨在确保工人福利和权益的进程，沙特电信公司（STC）在机场设立柜台发放SIM卡。
The envoy said officials were briefing workers who arrive from India and elsewhere about the laws of the country and the rights and duties of workers after which the cards are handed over. Mubarak said that the SIM cards will help workers communicate with the Indian mission as well as with their loved ones back home in India.
工作人员给从印度和其他地方抵达的工人发放SIM卡后，会为他们讲解沙特的法律，以及工人的权利和义务。Mubarak说，SIM卡不进有助于工人和印度外交使团沟通，而且有助他们联系国内的亲人。
A brochure on the rights of workers and how to seek assistance from the Saudi labour ministry in case of complaints or disputes are also given to them on their arrival.

Government figures show that there are roughly 2.8 million Indians working in Saudi Arabia. The measures have come in the wake of increasing complaints by Indian workers about unpaid salaries, poor working conditions and ill-treatment at the hands of employers.
官方数据显示，大约有280万印度人在沙特打工。在印度工人对欠薪、工作环境恶劣和遭到雇主虐待等投诉越来越多的推动下，沙特随之采取这些措施。
