GWADAR: Pakistan's army chief on Tuesday accused India of seeking to undermine his country's $46 billion project to build an economic corridor to transport goods from 's western regions through the Pakistani deepwater port of Gwadar.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, speaking at a development conference on the impact of the Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said the significance of a Pakistan- economic alliance had "raised eyebrows" in the region.
4月12日，巴基斯坦陆军参谋长Raheel Sharif指责印度企图破坏该国460亿美元的经济走廊项目，借助经济走廊，西部地区的货物可以通过巴基斯坦瓜达尔深水港运出。
在一次发展会议上，陆军参谋长Raheel Sharif谈到了中巴经济走廊的影响，他说，中巴经济同盟的重要性在该地区引起了侧目。
"In this context, I must highlight that India, our immediate neighbour, has openly challenged this development initiative," Sharif told the conference in Gwadar.
"I would like to make a special reference to Indian intelligence agency RAW that is blatantly involved in destabilising Pakistan. Let me make it clear that we will not allow anyone to create impediments and turbulence in any part of Pakistan. Therefore, it is important for all to leave behind confrontation and focus on cooperation."
