NEW DELHI: Legendary athlete Milkha Singh lashed out at the Indian Olympics Association, holding it responsible for the poor performance of the Indian sportspersons at the ongoing Rio Olympics.
Milkha, who had missed a bronze medal by a whisker in the 1960 Rome Olympics, said that the standard of performance of the Indian sportspersons has gone down as compared to earlier editions of the Games.
传奇运动员Milkha抨击印度奥委会，称其对印度运动员在里约奥运会上的不佳表现负有责任。
在1960年的罗马奥运会上，Milkha就差那么一点而错失了一枚铜牌。他说，和以前参加奥运会的运动员比起来，印度运动员的表现水准下降了。
"True, we are not doing well (in Rio). In earlier Olympics, we have done better, wng medals, even gold, silver and bronze. The IOA will have to take responsibility for this," Milkha said.
"The standard of India's performance (in Rio) has gone down as compared to earlier Olympics," said the octogenarian former quarter-miler.
After three days of action at the Rio Olympics, Indians have still not won a medal with star shooter Abhinav Bindra missing out on a podium finish by a whisker in men's 10m air rifle event on Monday night.
“确实，我们在里约表现不好。在以前的奥运会，我们表现更出色，拿了奖牌，有金牌、银牌和铜牌。印度奥委会要对今天的这个局面负责。”
里约奥运已经进行了3天，印度人仍然没有拿到一枚奖牌，而在周一晚上举行的10米气步枪决赛中，射击明星宾德拉就差那么一点而没有站上领奖台。

India need a athelete city. Where all india atheletes and sport person can practice freely. They must have compitions montly. They must be given all infra and good salary. Then see medals coming. Without giving any thing we expect medals from them. Such a fail policy of india . Change it

It is so sad and pathetic that one has to search for Olympics page on T0l website. This shows how Indians don’t care about games other than cricket. As there is no hope from Indian government, private sector and Bollywood should promote Olympic worthy sports.

India will only win medals at world level once politics is taken out and ministers and officials don''t get golden pass to international games. Also we need academies like cricket all over India to catch young talents and train them with good scholarships and parallel school and university education at national level. Look at china and see what they have achieved in last 20 years comparing any other nation.

Yes Mr Kishinchandani''s suggestion is right. Then, we definitely get good no of medals. If people dying of food n water, that also should be addressed but not with the cost of country''s reputation. We will die if at all required for the fame of the country.

India first need to change the policy towards atheletes. They dont live good life and dont get adequate salary. And we expect them to go and take medals for us? What kind of thinking is this. Change it provide them all needed infra. Give them very good salary . Make a athelete city for them where they can practice with world class equipments . Then see the medals coming in bulk
