586 train accidents in last 5 years; 53 due to derailments

NEW DELHI: Nearly 53 per cent of the 586 train accidents in the last five years were due to derailments with the Utkal Express derailment being the latest.
Notwithstanding the railways' attempts to upgrade the safety apparatus, many such accidents continue to occur.

新德里：在过去5年里发生的586次列车事故中，近53%是由于脱轨造成的，包括最近的特快列车脱轨事件。

According to official figures, of a total of 586 rail accidents in the last five years, nearly 53 per cent were due to derailments.

Most unfortunate part of these accidents is that it is difficult to believe on the inquiries by the Railways and looks like they want to hide the real facts. The one which happened yesterday , also gives the same impression!

that's just the number out by the press. these might even be more. the govt is not concerned about safety of the citizens but the safety of their deeply corrupted pockets. India being a develo country and so many accident is a shock not just at a national level but at an international level
