印度铁道部长：印度将在5年内淘汰柴油机车

NEW DELHI: Railways and coal minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said the Indian Railways will completely phase out diesel locomotives in the next five years and will switch to electric locomotives with the focus on increasing speed.

By phasing out diesel locomotives, the Railways will save about Rs 10,500 crore annually, he said.

印度铁路部长兼煤炭部长Piyush Goyal表示，印度铁路部门建在未来5您内，完全淘汰柴油机车，并转向电气机车，目的是为印度火车提速。

通过淘汰柴油机车，印度铁路每年将节省大约1050亿卢比。

If we are shifting to all electric, why is this import done?
