GUWAHATI: A Microlight Virus SW-80 helicopter of the Indian Air Force crashed on Thursday in Assam's Majuli island. Two pilots Wing Commander J James and Wing Commander D Vats were killed in the crash.

2月15日，印度空军一架超轻型直升机Virus SW-80，在阿萨姆邦的Majuli岛坠毁。两名飞行员丧生。

Police in the island district confirmed the incident and the deaths. It is suspected that the crash took place due to technical reasons, the officer added. A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.

I long for the day when all our aircraft are made in India - & that too of a very reliable quality.

I think at present we are heavily dependent on costly imports - as a result of which the forces always suffer a shortage of spare parts. That is what causes all these crashes.
