A dedicated teacher has touched the hearts of millions after giving lessons at a micro-school in rural China despite having only one student in class.

尽管教室里只有一位学生，一心奉献的的老师仍坚守在农村这所“微型”学校里。

Xu Zefeng, is the last teacher in central China's Youcheng Primary School, where he gives lesson to his only student, 11-year-old Xu Jiaqi.

Mr Xu believes it is a teacher's responsibility 'to carry on teaching as long as there is just one student'.

Mr Xu started teaching in Youcheng Primary School since 1982. He had witnessed some glorious times in the 90s where there were over 100 students and nine teachers in the school that is hidden deep in Taihang Mountain, reported Henan Business Daily.

徐泽峰是油城村小学的最后一位老师。他给11岁大的佳淇这一学校仅有的一位学生上课。

徐先生认为，只要学校里还有一位学生，作为一名教师，他就有义务承担起教学的责任。

从1982年开始，徐先生就一直在油城村小学教书。

他见证了上世纪90年代这所学校的辉煌时期，当时这所深藏在太行山里的学校有100多名学生，9位教师。

As urban renewal plans escalated and new schools built in the town centre down the hill, parents from the village started sending their children to the town to receive better education.

Jiaqi is brought up by his grandfather and the pair earn money from scavenging.

Youcheng Primary School, since then, has become China's lonelinest school where Mr Xu gives lessons to Jiaqi in the empty classroom.

The 54-year-old teaches Jiaqi eight subjects including languages, mathematics, music and physical education.
