Four alleged rapists were paraded through the streets in central India in a bid to 'shame' them for the crimes they are accused of.

Video footage show the foursome being walked through a crowd where women - including a female police officer - take turns to slap and beat them.

The four men allegedly abducted and raped a 20-year-old college student in Bhopal, in Madhya Pradesh State, and threatened to kill her and her family.

Police said the victim was abducted in Bhopal by two of the gang and taken to a house where the others joined them and raped her.

据报道，四名男子在博帕尔诱拐并强奸了一名20岁的女性，还威胁要杀害她和她的家人。

The victim told police one of the men, Shailendra Dangi, 21, whom she knows from university, invited her to a restaurant.

They had an argument, and Dangi snatched her mobile phone and took her to his friend Sonu Dangi's home nearby.

She said Sonu Dangi, 21, Dhiraj Rajput, 26, and Chiman Rajput, 25, were all already there.

'All four involved have been arrested,' ,' said Rahul Kumar Lodha, Superintendent of Police.
