Isro: Trial of sat-based warning system at unmanned railway crossings satisfactory

印度空间研究组织(ISRO)：无人值守的铁路水平交叉口，星载预警系统第一阶段的试验令人满意

NEW DELHI: The trial of a satellite-based early warning system about approaching trains at unmanned level crossings has been completed by the Indian Railways, a top official of Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) said.

印度空间研究组织的一位官员说，印度铁路公司已经完成了一项星载预警系统第一阶段的试验，该系统用于在无人值守的铁路水平交叉口火车驶来时进行预警。

Speaking to TOI, Ahmedabad-based Space Applications Centre (SAC) director Tapan Misra said, “The one-year phase-1 trial of the satellite-based early warning system is over. Its performance has been satisfactory.”

总部设在艾哈迈达巴德的空间应用中心主任塔潘•米斯拉，对印度时报记者说：“星载预警系统的一年期第一阶段试验已经结束，表现令人满意。”

All LCGates in the US are unmanned, and the trains pass them with just 20 second warnings. Here, people try to sneak their motorbikes and cycles and other vehicles under the gates while the gates are closed. It is the mentality that has to change, more than the electronic system.
