Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said on Friday that death toll in state due to the floods has risen to 164 since August 8. Nearly 2,23,000 people are living in 1 ,568 relief camps across the state.

Whats happening in Kerala is a consequence of human actions (global warming) and natures power. I feel angry and ashamed to see comments by my fellow countrymen calling the floods a punishment for Keralite religious (and political) beliefs that do not align with their own. Religion was invented to instil morals in people. Sadly, it has morphed into something that makes even good people bad. Any god worth worship to would not kill so many innocent people because some people deny his/her exstence.
