India is not a poor country and so denying foreign aid is okay. The important thing is that people are there to help each other in times of distress. This is not a competition to decide who gave more money. All this money contributed is required to rebuild the infrastructure of the state.

We Indians are ch****yas with very big egos. Accepting aid doesn''t make one a smaller person and rejecting aid doesn''t prove that we are a rich country. On whose behalf did the government reject aid? Did you ask the poor keralites drowning in floodwater if they want to reject foreign aid? No, this decision was made by Ministers living in New Delhi bungalows while having whisky and chicken tikka in air conditioned room. This action doesn''t show that we are powerful or self sufficient. It simply shows we Indians have very large egos and very small P*n*ses.
