Long history of caste system in Hinduism has brought us to a point where many things can be said about it: 1. That it is our shame. We should never have supported the caste system. 2) Indeed, in the modern times caste based borders are declining. 3) Throughout our history, our adversaries have used our caste-based divisions to harm us. 4). Though reservations are/were needed, now they have become a political football. Even non-Hindu politicians use caste system to extract votes. 5) It is to all hindu''s advantage to abolish the caste system as soon as possible. Dalit politics is nothing but a way to spread more hatred. It is possible that they have been part of the society for thousands of years. But, It is evident that they have lived through all the challenges. They have maintained their own culture and values. Majority of Hindu scriptures were written by dalit. Lord Ram visited Shabari a dalit instead of local Brahmans. Lord Krishna also stressed on seeing all living beings with equal vision. Dalit have supported our society by taking up dirty professions. Caste system exsts in the entire subcontinent regardless of religion we follow.
