The British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) was created because the US military and strategic planners wanted Diego Garcia real estate for its naval base. The British created this BIOT and took these Islands belonging to Maurititus and then leased the BIOT for 50 years to USA, to be renewed for another 50 year term lease. The BIOT is now a full-fledged US base and is very much a part of the US Indian Ocean-Pacific strategy. Hopefullly, Maurititus is providing all the key materials in support of its assertion of the fact.
