India should not be split into South and North India. Basically, it could not be done in todays situation due to migration of people to different parts of the country.

But, having said that, just for the sake of speculation, what would it be like, if India was split into 2 parts. Since, Vindhyas are considered the separation line, lets assume that South India is made of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. And the rest of the states are part of North India.

In this scenario, all developed regions of India fall under South India. Hence, the GDP growth rate of the South will easily reach double digit figures. Also, since it need not pull the weight of less developed regions, it can invest that money in People development projects. Having a coastline on both sides, trade will flourish.

But the downside will be that, there will be growing need for further division of states and if we keep on diving, where shall we stop? Also, the Politics currently is not mature enough and can drive us into a ditch.

For the North India, the state of Gujarat will flourish since it has a coastline and an established industry. But, it will feel a great burden to drag other less developed parts. Trade will suffer because of lack of coastline.

In overall sense, both the North and the South benefit from staying together although we have our differences. Hence, there is profit in being united.

Majority of Indians who had minimum education can easily learn any other language.

Either its Hindi speaking people learning Dravidian Languages or vice versa.

Speaking language was never a problem. Opening up your mind to learn other states language without losing love for your own language is the problem.

This can be removed from education, personal enlightenment. For next generations, i hope language will never become reason for this thought.

The more we divide, the more conflicts portrayed to the outside world. Our enemies gain power over us. As, they can easily see our weak points and beat on that as British, Portugese, French did and which costed life of Indian warriors. When a missile is approaching our country, the only feeling you get is indian and the only help you look around is from your neighbors who are either hindi speaking people covering the border regions or Dravidians supplying the resources needed to protect our brave hearts at borders.

If your mother (India) is not understanding your pain, show her that your skin is bleeding. One day or other she will realize. But, dont kill her. You will regret later.
