Well the beauty of India is in it’s different culture and heritage. North, South, East are so very much different. And within North or south again there are various other cultures. This is the real beauty of India where people of different religions, culture, languages, beliefs stay together in peace and harmony. I have seen many countries where people fight even based on location or small differences.

I am a South Indian and I have traveled most of south India and people have a very strong love for India. Many South Indian’s states are now trying to learn Hindi even when it’s very difficult for them.

印度的美在于它不同的文化和传统。北，南，东都是如此的不同。北方或南方也有不同的文化。这就是印度真正的美，在这里，不同宗教、文化、语言、信仰的人们和睦相处。我见过许多国家，人们甚至会因为地域或细微的差异而打架。

我是南印度人，我去过南印度的大部分地区，人们对印度有着非常强烈的热爱。许多南印度州现在都在努力学习印地语，即使对他们来说难度很大。

But recently I have started getting a feeling that South Indian’s should demand a separate country for the below reasons:

People from North of India consider South Indians as some aliens.

South Indians are teased inspite of their intelligence.

South Indians are termed as dark by many North Indians when they don't understand that not all South Indian’s are dark.

但最近我开始觉得南印度应该要求成立一个独立的国家，原因如下:

来自印度北部的人认为南印度人是外星人。

南印度人因智力问题而被取笑。

南印度人被许多北印度人称为无知的时候，他们不明白并不是所有的南印度人都是无知的。

South India contributes to more than 1/4th of the Indian GDP growth, but most of the revenue is spent on the North Indian states leaving nothing much for South India.

You won't see much south Indians in Indian television serials. It is filled with all the North Indian people as if they are the only people who represent India.

You won't see much south Indians in Indian political system. No major post in Indian politics is held by south Indians.

In the history books taught in schools you never read about the sacrifices given by South Indians for Indian freedom struggle. Just like the current political scenario, our history books are filled with brave stories of North Indian leaders and freedom fighters.

南印度贡献了印度GDP增长的四分之一以上，但这些钱大部分都花在了北印度邦，没有给南印度留下什么。

你不会在印度电视连续剧里看到太多的南印度人。到处都是北印度人，好像他们是唯一能代表印度的人。

And in the past 3 years I see this difference even more with our new Prime minister Modi who looks more like a Gujarat PM.

He talks about making Gujarat a top state taking businesses away from states like Maharashtra.

Bullet train to be connected from Mumbai to Ahmedabad when hardly people travel between the two cities on a regular basis.

All the major post including the Finance minister post is given to Gujaratis.

Proposed dream project Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project which covers most of cities in North and west India and excludes south India completely.

Now a days I get a feeling that South Indian’s are not getting their due respect in this country.

If the same situation continues then the day won't be far away when the politicians of this country will develop the whole north of India with the money generated by South India without doing much development in South India.

We as Indians need to understand that India consists of North, South and East. We should stop teasing people from South and North East. Now who is responsible for this ignorance? Even today when we see a person from north east state of India we don't consider him as Indian and rather feel he is asian and call them by names. Who is to blame for this? May be our society. But few things we need to change else only a section of people in this country will feel themselves like Indians. Few things which can be changed are:

Include people from North, south and North East in Indian politics and give important post to people from all sections of the country. When you can play caste based politics why not region based which will be good for the country?

Bollywood and Indian television can play a major role in making us understand that some Indians also looks like Asians (people from North East). When we can tolerate the Hindi of some of the Western actresses, we can definitely handle the ascent of North East and south Indian actor/actresses. When we start seeing people of North East on our television we will start understanding that they also belong to India and their acceptance will increase. Unfortunately Bollywood and Indian television till now have played a major role in disintegrating the country. You only see fair and beautiful people on television. When you see this day in and out, you get a feeling that these are the people who reside in India. How can you expect our Kids to understand North Indians are also Indians? If you see Hollywood it has a fair amount of black people working in the Industry and that has resulted in their acceptance in the society which was pretty racial till now.

But having said that we seriously need to throw our ignorance. Our politicians need to stop the region politics considering the fact that some North Indian states have more seats for the parliament.

Our prime minister Narendra Modi needs to understand that he is prime minister of the country and he being the chief minister of Gujarat was his past.

However the fact remains that MOST people who have answered here (particularly South Indians) have never traveled to the North.

India may be one country on paper. But the reality is that it is many different countries - culturally and linguistically. Far more diverse than the European Union.

India is a creation of the British. It never exsted as one country before that.

“Should” is not the question. The question is WHEN. It WILL be split into multiple countries at one point in the near future.

True, many countries can come together to form a mutually beneficial Union, much like the European Union. But here in India there is much hatred towards to the South.

Southern states have been giving more as tax BUT get less in return. This means every South Indian is in a way an economic slave to North Indians.

Those South Indians who believe that India needs to be one single country are plainly ignorant of the ground realities and prefer to have an imaginary version of their country.

You must travel outside India to really see the North-South divide. When Indians congregate in huge numbers at foreign universities, the division is usually quite concrete. The linguistic divide is there but the North Indian vs South Indian divide is very prominent. Just ask someone who has studied at such universities, about how they select room-mates.

South Indian cities and towns such as Bangalore have so many North Indians who will simply not learn the local language. They think they can move to South India and South Indians should accommodate them, their language and culture. The North Indians have no job prospects in their home states - everyday they come in the thousands (every day) never to go back. This is a form of invasion. South Indians who are well-informed are already aware of the risks.

And yes, North Indians have no respect for the law and are simply uncivilized. The crime rate goes up because of these North Indians. This is just a plain fact. Starting today, every time you read the newspaper about some violent crime, make a note of the perpetrators’ names - it will enlighten you as to the amount of crime these North Indians commit inside South India.

North Indians’ attitude towards women is simply unacceptable. Yet because we are one country, foreigners perceive South Indians to be similarly anti-women. In other words India has a bad name abroad because of North Indians. There was a university in Germany that simply rejected all male applicants from India. Why should South Indians pay for the uncivilized behavior of North Indians?

Educated, well-informed, well-read, well-traveled South Indians know that being part of India is hugely detrimental in every way - economic, social, linguistic and cultural.

Periyar never wanted the British to leave behind a unified India. He knew how these North Indians operated. He said so openly. He preferred the British masters to these uncivilized North Indians.

The fact is that South India is a colony of the Hindi speaking people. And ignorant South Indians are not even aware of this fact. Sad.

If you truly cherish and value your home-state’s culture and identity, then you cannot support a unified India.

受过良好教育、见多识广、博览群书、游历甚广的南印度人知道，作为印度的一部分在经济、社会、语言和文化等各个方面都是极其有害的。

派里亚从未希望英国人留下一个统一的印度。他知道这些北印度人是怎么运作的。他这么坦率地说。比起这些未开化的北方印第安人，他更喜欢英国主人。

事实上，南印度是说印地语的人的殖民地。无知的南印度人甚至没有意识到这个事实。真让人伤心。

如果你真正珍惜、重视你的祖国的文化和身份，那么你就不能支持一个统一的印度。
