I still remember the modern bread ad on vividh Bharati  with a childish voice singing Mommy Mummy modern bread". But the modern brand is not dead. You still get it in Tamil Nadu. Only thing is it is owned by Hindustan Unilever. And the bread is so goddamn sweet that you can eat it as desert.i

I particularly remember weston TV ads  because it used to be on the front page of every paper with a pic of Sharmila Tagore.Summet which ruled the kitchen machines market has suddenly vamoosed, heaven knows why.Oops I forgot Gold n' Crisp the first branded potato chips, and J.B.Mangaram's biscuits..

Thanks for a bright idea of tagging people for writing about their own childhood memories. I later edited the blog Title to add "Tag game" to it but it didn't work. Anyway I added a line at the bottom of the blog tagging you and I think you can start this game of tagging. It will be fun to force the people to write about their childhood, which they may not do otherwise.
