I won't say yes or no, but would say “India has 10–15% chance of qualifying for the 2022 world cup”. In current state Indian football quality has improved significantly. After the successful under 17 world cup 2017, Indian stadium and Indian football association have got a tremendous boost to do some miracle in the upcoming work don't cup qualifications. Everything about Indian football is like a fairy tale now……we are currently in an unbeatable wng streak, then we have qualified for the AFC cup and we are sitting in 102 position in the FIFA rankings. We have a outstanding striker Sunil chetri and a strong Goalkeeper Gurpreet singh.

After the world cup 2018 Russia, the qualification round will start. Qualifying for the world cup is just a dream come true for any nation. Can India qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup? Highly unlikely.

India is growing as a footballing nation. Our latest FIFA rank is 107 and Asian rank is 13. That’s a great improvement when compared to 2 years back. But still, it’s not good enough to qualify for a World Cup.

But I would be optimistic for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. There’s still 8 years to go and the number of teams have been increased from 32 to 48. If we can improve the way we have in recent times, then there is a decent chance.

印度有资格参加2022年世界杯吗?太不现实了。

印度的足球正在成长。我们最新的国际足联排名是107，亚洲排名13。与两年前相比，这是一个很大的进步。但还是不够好，还没有资格参加世界杯。

I agree Indian football team has shown immense growth in the game in recent years. Jumped from 173 to 97 rank in FIFA rankings, successfully qualified for AFC Asia cup. Competitive skills have grown along with their game. But what lags in them is the “fitness level”

Unlike any other sport, football is game which makes players engaged physically throughout. And competing in a stage like world cup with players from Europe and South America who are at the peak of their fitness is not a mere thing. Indian football team should definitely concentrate in this area very much. This may help them to qualify for world cup in 2030.
