Yes it scores more marks on every dimension compare to an average hollywood movie.

Its a director's movie. Mouli's effort is commendable. I was amazed how he puts the Meticulous things perfectly with conviction.

Bahubali's escape from Bhallaldev's court putting fireballs upon and their eye contacts or Bahubali and Kattapa's fight for saving Bhallaldev son is amazing.

I think it proved he knows more ways to tell a story one might ever heared.

Forget the oscar! Bahubali is something totally new to Indian cinema say in its grandeur, the plot, emotions, music and much more. Also it is a movie which won the critical acclaim and the audience not only from India but also world wide. Just by wng a panel of judges' appreciation cannot define what a movie is! Hats off to Rajamouli Garu for his splendid work and lifting the standards of Indian cinema to the next level!!

If a film doesn't has its originality and has replica of some scenes from other films it gets disqualified.

Even if one scene is copied from somewhere it loses its originality and it will be disawoved from any nomination.

PS: Baahubali was a good attempt but its never an Oscar material.

This movie from the shed of S S Rajamouli might have made its presence felt in Indian movie industry with a handful of hotshot visual effect cuts, but as always, exaggeration has gripped this piece of art and without a comprehensive compelling story, I doubt this could even make it to the final list of official contenders to the Oscars. Although Bahubali could have made it to the Best Animated Movies' list but unfortunately this is not a full notch animation and hence the question goes in vain

so much of negativity here... ,but i feel this film is going to be atleast nominated in "best foreign film category"..crouching tiger hidden dragon won many awards but before that many "experts" were highly critical about it and felt its not an "award material"...history will repeat itself.bahubali 1 and 2 will set a new benchmark just wait and watch!!!!

There films that were better directed and had a better story: Piku, Masaan, Manjhi The Mountain Man, and a whole bunch of regional films.

Baahubali had great ambitions. That's all I can say about the film. It could've used a better VFX team, better editors, a better scriptwriter and a better director. The actors were the only ones who seemed to have brought their A game.

It was visually stunning (by Indian standards)  but apart from that there is nothing which makes it a great film.
