NEW DELHI: By 2022, as it celebrates 75 years of independence, India also hopes to have addressed the needs of millions belonging to poor, vulnerable and marginalised communities.

Excellent. Recently I visited my primary school and had a mid day meal with students. Quality and taste has drastically improved compared to earlier 5 years before.

That''s great news! But, quality of education, primary to university level is pathetic. Outcomes are embarrassing, one should look at the latest PISA or ASER reports to see how far behind India is when it comes to outcomes. Only Kazakhstan is worse than India when education outcomes were measured among 74 countries in 2012.
