A young woman in China has been told by doctors she might never be able to have babies in the future after undergoing 17 abortions in six years.

一名年轻女子被医生告知，6年做17次人流，她以后可能都怀不上孩子了。

It is said that the woman's womb was so badly damaged after all the procedures that her uterus lining was 'as thin as a piece of paper,' according to a doctor at the Shiyan Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital.

十堰市妇幼保健院妇科的医生说，术中发现她因为流产次数过多，子宫内膜严重缺失，内膜薄得就像一层纸，宫腔内伤痕累累。

The patient, known by a pseudonym iao Ju, has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for six years and the couple don't use contraception, reportedly Shiyan Evening News.

据十堰晚报报道，这名女子叫小橘（化名），她和男友恋爱6年，没有采取避孕。

The woman claimed to the doctors that she was not ready to get married and was not capable of raising a child, therefore she had decided to terminate all pregnancies, said the report.

小橘对医生说，自己还没有结婚打算，也没有能力抚养一个孩子，所以每次都进行人流。

Any babies born out of wedlock in China will not be issued an ID, which means they will not be entitled to state benefits or the right to receive education.

在，非婚生子没有身份证，享受不到国家福利，没有上学的权利。

Sex ed is indeed zero in China. I had a colleague from there. She said that when she got married, she and her husband had to read a book to learn how to conceive. So it would not be surprising if they don't know how to prevent conception either.

You don't have to have a sex education to know that sex causes pregnancy, at the very least they should have figured it out by now! Also I find it hard to believe that not once have any of those doctors (especially since they know that she has repeatedly returned to this same hospital) tried to supply her with birth control and at least some education!? I don't see how anyone could have a valid reason for choosing to do this 17 times!
