WASHINGTON: The head of Nasa on Tuesday branded India's destruction of one of its satellites a "terrible thing" that had created 400 pieces of orbital debris and led to new dangers for astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

华盛顿: 周二，美国国家航空航天局(Nasa)局长称，印度击落卫星是一件“可怕的事情”，产生了400块轨道碎片，给国际空间站的宇航员带来了危险。

Jim Bridenstine was addressing employees of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration five days after India shot down a low-orbiting satellite in a missile test to prove it was among the world's advanced space powers.

Not all of the pieces were big enough to track, Bridenstine explained. "What we are tracking right now, objects big enough to track -- we're talking about 10 centimeters (six inches) or bigger -- about 60 pieces have been tracked."

NASA claims they are tracking 200 parts of debris created by A sat test by India.They also said that there are on over 10000 similar prices of which 3000 were because of .That leaves 7000 pieces for which there was no news about who created it -obviously it must be NASA.
