A ten-year-old girl was raped and choked to death before her body was dumped in a bin and mutilated by wild animals in India.

Two neighbours are said to have kidnapped the girl and sexually assaulted her before killing her and throwing her body in a dumpster.

The child was abducted from outside her home in Kotdwar, a town in the northern state of Uttarakhand, Monday.

Two men aged 28 and 31 have confessed to the crime, according to the Times of India.
