'Your journey has inspired us': Nasa commends Isro's attempt to land on Moon

WASHINGTON DC (USA): National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) on Saturday commended Isro's attempt to place 'Vikram' lander of Chandrayaan 2 mission on the Moon's south pole and said it was inspired with the Indian space agency's journey.

华盛顿（美国）：周六，美国宇航局（NASA）赞扬了印度空间研究组织(ISRO)将月船2号着陆器“维克拉姆”号送上月球南极的尝试，并表示受之激励。

The US space agency also said that it looks forward to working with Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) to explore the solar system together.

美国宇航局还表示，期待与印度空间研究组织(ISRO)合作，共同探索太阳系。

"Space is hard. We commend Isro's attempt to land their #Chandrayaan2 mission on the Moon's South Pole. You have inspired us with your journey and we look forward to future opportunities to explore our solar system together," Nasa said in a tweet.

NASA发推文表示：“(探索)太空是很困难的。我们赞赏ISRO月船2号登陆月球南极的尝试，你们进行的登月激励着我们，期待着未来有机会一起探索太阳系。”

The communication with Vikram lander was lost in the wee hours of Saturday, moments before its planned landing on the south pole region of the moon. Isro chairman K Sivan announced that communication with the lander was lost at 2.1 km from the lunar surface.

“维克拉姆”号着陆器计划在月球南极地区着陆，但在周六凌晨失联。ISRO主席K Sivan宣布，在距离月球表面2.1公里的地方与着陆器失去了联系。

In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed ISRO's scientists saying that they live for the country and irrespective of setbacks, the country's resolve to reach the moon has strengthened more.

It seems more vital data will come out from the orbiter which will revolve for 7 more years around moons South pole. As per Mr.Sivan it has on board K Band SAR which can take sub surface images of moons South pole which no other country has ventured till date. Mission will be success if some major discovery comes out. Kudos to ISRO.
