India to become $5 trillion economy by 2024: Amit Shah

阿米特·沙阿：2024年印度将成为5万亿美元经济体

MUMBAI: Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday expressed hope that by 2024, India would become $ 5 trillion economy and be placed among the top five global economies. The last five years were of the detoxfication of the economy and in the next five years, a series of reforms will be taken to make it one of the most powerful economies of the world, Shah said.

孟买：印度内政部长阿米特·沙阿周六表示，到2024年，印度有望成为5万亿美元经济体，跻身全球五大经济体之列。沙阿称，过去五年是经济排毒的五年，今后五年将采取一系列改革措施，推动印度成为全球最强大的经济体之一。

India is already a destination of global companies due to its huge market and FDI is at record level today, the minister said.

沙阿表示，由于市场巨大，印度已成为全球企业的投资目的地，外国直接投资达到创纪录水平。

"In 2014, in the list of world economy, we stood at 11th with the size of economy at $2 trillion. And after five years, today we have moved from 11 number to 7 and have reached $2.9 trillion and I have full confidence that by 2024, we will achieve the target of $5 trillion," he said here at an event of the Economic Times.

沙阿在《经济时报》的一次活动上表示：“2014年，在世界经济排名中，我们以2万亿美元的经济规模排在第11位。五年后的今天，我们经济规模达到了2.9万亿美元，从第11位上升到第7位。我完全有信心，到2024年，我们将实现5万亿美元目标。”

On ease of doing business ranking, he expressed confidence that india's rank will be within top 30th before 2024.

在营商环境排名方面，他表示对印度在2024年之前将进入前30名有信心。

"India was at the rank of 142 in 2014, but in the last five years we jumped to 77 and by 2024, India will be somewhere at the rank of 30," Shah said.

沙阿称:“2014年，印度的排名是142位，过去5年里，我们跃升至77位，到2024年，印度的排名将进入前30。”

India is a global investment destination and industry should not lose confidence simply because of temporary growth slowdown, the minister noted.

他指出，印度是一个全球投资目的地，各行各业不应该因为暂时的增长放缓而失去信心。

investment isn't zero. actually it has been increasing. india's foreign exchange is at a record high. gdp isn't down either. it has been growing, albeit at a slower rate than people would expect of one-n-only namo govt. unemployment isn't up. it has not been growing at a good clip. know what you say before you say it.
