You have to remember the greater threat to South East Asia, Japan, Taiwan etc is . This is Why India is building up it's Navy in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. There is no way can match Indian power in the Indian ocean and this is needed for peace to prevail in South East Asia, Srilanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Maldives and other countries.
