Yes.

However, I suspect many Indian and restaurant owners around here hire Mexcans. That can still be a racist thing to do, though, in a different way.

People who claim that you need someone of a specific ethnicity to prepare the food correctly are wrong. With the proper training and education, and sufficient basic skill, anyone can learn to make anything. It’s a matter of knowing how the food is supposed to taste. That takes education and practice, to develop a palate, so they can taste the different flavors in a food.

有人说,做某国菜,就该请某国人,这样想是错的。

What is the reason for hiring one ethnicity only?

Is it because they want to give an authentic experience for the guests?

Is it because the owner doesn't speak english well enough so hiring people that can speak the same language is common sense?

Is it because the owner wants to help out their fellow /Indian to get a job?

As long as the reason is not something like: my race is superior to other races that's why I only hire people from my own race, then I would not consider it racism.

做一国菜,为什么一定要雇佣某个国家的厨师?

因为老板想让客人觉得能吃到正宗菜?

因为老板的英语说不好,所以雇佣母语和他一样的员工?

还是说老板就想让本国人有工作做?

只要老板没有抱着这样的想法,即我觉得自己民族的人比其他民族的人高贵,所以我只雇佣本民族的人。只要不是抱着这样的想法,那么就不能说老板是种族主义者。
