Small motors made by China have helped villagers in the mountainous Duab village in Afghanistan build a small hydropower power plant. As a result, villagers could replace lanterns with electric bulbs to light their homes.

Great story. This is the China I know and respect. Though, I would not necessarily recommend throwing the diesel lanterns just yet. Evaluate the problems with electricity first. In the west, it is far overpriced. I hope more hydro-power generators can be given or acquired by the people of Afghan.
