Chhattisgarh: CoBRA officer martyred, 9 commandos hurt in Maoist IED blast

RAIPUR: A decorated officer of CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit was martyred and nine other commandos seriously injured in a Maoist IED blast in the restive Chintagufa region of Sukma late Saturday night.

The slain officer, assistant commandant Nitin Bhalerao, was from Nashik, said Bastar Range IG P Sundarraj. His senior, commandant Dinesh Kumar Singh, the Battalion’s second-in-command, is being treated for splinter and blast injuries.
