NEW DELHI: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said the government should convene a joint session of Parliament and take back the new farm laws.

新德里：前国大党主席拉胡尔·甘地周四表示，政府应该在议会召开一次联席会议，废除新农业法案。

"I want to tell the PM that these farmers are not going to go back home until these farm laws are repealed. Opposition parties stand with farmers and labourers," Rahul Gandhi told reporters outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

拉胡尔·甘地在拉斯特拉帕蒂广场外对记者表示：“我想告诉总理，农民不会回家的，除非废除新农业法。反对党站在农民和劳工这边”

If the Prime Minister does not take these laws back, the country will suffer, he claimed.

Rahul alleged that the way the laws were passed without any discussion, consultations, they need to be withdrawn.

拉胡尔声称，新法案是在没有经过任何讨论和磋商的情况下通过的，应该撤销。

"It is an assault on the idea of India. The government is stop our MPs from moving out of our office ... There is no de ocracy in India, it is only in imagination, not in reality," Rahul charged.

The Congress leader further alleged that only three-four people are running the system and said the party is fighting this.

"PM Modi is making money for the crony capitalists. Whoever will try to stand against him will be called terrorist - be it farmers, labourers and even Mohan Bhagwat (RSS chief)," he said.

Rahul Gandhi, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury met President Ram Nath Kovind and demanded withdrawal of the three farm laws.

Farmers are protesting at the borders of Delhi since November 26 against the new farm laws.

Modi government should address the genuine concerns of the farmers. The farmers should also adopt a flexble approach rather than being rigid and start dialogue again with the government. The opposition parties are giving full support to the farmers agitation to serve their political purposes only rather than being concerned for their genuine issues and trying every possibility to put the Modi government in bad light at the international level too.
