MiG-21 aircraft of IAF crashes in Rajasthan, pilot ejects safely

印度空军一架“米格-21”在拉贾斯坦邦坠毁，飞行员安全弹射

JAIPUR: A MiG-21 Bison aircraft of the IAF crashed at Suratgarh Air Base in Rajasthan on Tuesday soon after taking off, officials said.

斋浦尔：周二，印度空军一架“米格-21野牛”起飞后不久在拉贾斯坦邦苏拉特加尔空军基地坠毁。

The Indian Air Force said that the pilot is safe and an enquiry has been initiated. The incident took place at 8.15pm.

印度空军表示，飞行员安全无事，调查已经开始。事故发生在晚上8点15分。

As soon as the aircraft took off, it developed a technical glitch after which the pilot ejected. The pilot landed safely and thereafter, emergency measures were taken.

飞机起飞后就出现了技术故障，飞行员随即弹射，并安全落地，随后采取了紧急措施。

This is the first incident of the year.

这是印度今年发生的第一起坠机事故。

India bought Russian Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau-made MiG-21 in 1961. The IAF is still flying the aircraft even after many fatal incidents in recent times.

These Russian made MIG 21, Su-29 and MIG-29 need to be sold in e-bay soon, it looks they crash every second day. Replace them with US made F22 or even F-35, US is ready to sale these to India.

Mig series WAS one of the best fighters, but it's need of the hour to retire series. No doubt it performed best in the past. Our rate of casualties was more as our fighter pilots were never given AJTs to train themselves to fly Migs.
