NEW DELHI: India on Friday called for urgent, practical and time-bound assistance to 39 Indian sailors stranded on two cargo ships in waters in view of the "grave" humanitarian situation develo on board the vessels.

新德里：鉴于被困海域的两艘货船上存在人道主义问题，周五印度呼吁39名被困印度船员提供紧急援助。

Citing coronavirus-related restrictions, authorities have not allowed the ships, MV Jag Anand and MV Anastasia, to either dock or go for a crew change for months.

以新冠疫情的防疫措施为由，有关部门几个月来一直不允许“Jag Anand”号和“Anastasia”号货船靠岸或进行船员更组。

"There is a growing stress on the crew members on account of the long delay. Given this and our concern for the increasingly difficult conditions for our crew members, these two cases are being pursued vigorously," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said.

印度外交部发言人Anurag Srivastava说：“由于长时间的延误，船员们的压力越来越大。考虑到这一点以及我们对船员处境日益困难的担忧，我们正在积极跟进这起事件。”

The ships had an option since 12 June to return to port of origin. This is not problem. India should pay the ship owner the return passage cost and bring the Indians home. This is a business dispute and nothing to do with . Media should take statements from the when retiring one sided facts given by Indian authorities.

Govt should impound all vessels, not just in ports but anywhere in its waters, and forbid Indian-flagged ships from entering their ports, until the Indian crews are released.
