COIMBATORE: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi landed in Coimbatore on Saturday morning for a three-day, five district election campaign in Tamil Nadu, the longest and the most elaborate one the Congress scion has ever undertaken in the state.

"I am delighted to be back in Tamil Nadu today to spend time with my Tamilian brothers and sisters in the Kongu belt. Together, we will defend & preserve the unique culture of the Tamils against the attacks by the Modi govt," Rahul tweeted. Congress cadre gathered at the airport and at SITRA Junction on the Avinashi Road to greet the leader.

This is the second visit of Rahul to Tamil Nadu this month, after his one-day visit to Madurai on January 14 to watch jallikattu at Avaniyapuram .
