CHENNAI: Four days ahead of Tamil Nadu assembly polls, income tax department conducted searches at the DMK chief MK Stalin’s daughter’s houses in Chennai.

金奈：距泰米尔纳德邦议会投票仅四天，印度税务部门在金奈对DMK领袖MK Stalin女儿的房子进行了搜查。

Of the eight places where searches commenced this morning, four in Chennai are linked to Stalin's daughter Senthamarai and son-in-law Sabareesan.

Income tax officials said searches started on Friday morning at Stalin’s daughter’s houses in Teynampet and Neelangarai. I-T sources said the searches were initiated based on complaints and inputs received by the department.

As of now, no documents or cash has been seized by the officials, sources said.

Opposition party leaders were quick to condemn the searches and linked it to the elections. and said they were. They also termed it political vendetta.

DMK general secretary S Durai Murugsn said the party could not be cowed down by income tax searches. He called the action politically motivated.
