India reports 1,45,384 new Covid cases, another highest one-day surge

NEW DELHI: Daily Covid case count in India set a new record for the fourth straight day, after reporting over 1.45 lakh new cases on Saturday.

新德里：周六印度新增超过14.5万例，单日新增病例数连续第四天创新记录。

According to the Union health ministry, the country recorded 1,45,384 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. With this fresh surge, the total number of infections has reached 1,32,05,926.

根据联邦卫生部的数据，在过去24小时内印度记录了145384例新病例。随着这一新的激增，印度累计确诊病例已达到13205926例。

As many as 77,567 people were discharged or recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,19,90,859.

在过去24小时内，有77567人出院或康复，康复总人数达到11990859人。

The previous high was recorded on Thursday when the country reported 1,31,968 fresh Covid positive cases in a single day. This is the fifth day when India reported more than 1 lakh cases in a single day.

Currently, there are 10,46,631 active cases in the country.

For the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, India had recorded more than lakh cases on April 5 in a single day.

With 794 new Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, the toll in the country has mounted to 1,68,436.
